“His Banner Over Me Is Love” (Song of Solomon 2:4)
From the Pastor
Good Friday is a day marked by sorrow—a solemn reminder of the moment when Jesus Christ, the innocent Son of God, was nailed to the cross. He suffered, bled, and died, bearing the weight of humanity’s sins. In those six hours, Jesus paid the full debt for us all.
But the story does not end there.
Easter Sunday is a day of celebration and victory. It is the day Jesus rose from the dead, walked out of the tomb, and declared—through His resurrection—that eternal salvation is available to all who repent and place their faith in Him as Lord and Savior. The resurrection changed everything.
Why the Resurrection Matters
Because of the resurrection:
- Our sins are forgiven.
Jesus’ death was not the end—it was only part of God’s redemptive plan. As Romans 4:25 reminds us, “He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.”
- Eternal life is secured.
Through His victory over death, Jesus made a way for us to live forever with God. As He said in John 11, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live.”
- We have a living Savior.
Unlike the founders of other religions, Jesus is not in the grave—He is alive. As the angels proclaimed at the empty tomb: “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here; He has risen.”
A Personal Reflection
I am deeply thankful for Jesus and all that He has done for me.
