From the Pastor

It has been a long, hot summer, but the coming of September reminds us that fall is around the corner. Our new church year starts on September 1, and everyone elected to positions of service will begin then.

I am thrilled at the good work our Nominating Team has done. We have a good balance of people, from our older members to our newer ones, serving as general leaders, teachers, and committee team members this new year!

We have a couple of new ministry positions this year. Debbie Brewer and Cathy James will be our prayer coordinators. I am thankful that Balmoral is a praying church, and we want to continue to make prayer a major priority in our church and our lives. Debbie and Cathy will help us with prayer.

We are also starting a Men’s Ministry, and Albert James will be the director. Be listening for a date for Man Church, which we are planning for the near future.

Karen and I will be leaving later this month for Little Rock, where I will receive a CAR T-cell transplant. They harvested T-cells from my body a few weeks ago and genetically engineered them in the lab to destroy multiple myeloma cells.

We will be near the Multiple Myeloma Research Hospital for four weeks in case I have complications. Please pray that I will have no problems and that the T-cells will put this myeloma into remission.

We love you and thank God for this wonderful church family.

Preaching on Sunday Morning

Pastor Gregg will preach for us on Sunday mornings while he is in Little Rock for the CAR T-cell treatment. He will preach through video, and his messages will be on the screen.

John Burwell and David Mayben will lead the invitation at the close of each Sunday’s sermon.

The only visiting preacher will be Bro. Leonard French. He is the pastor of Bridge of Hope, the church that meets in our choir room each Sunday morning. Their congregation joins our worship on the fourth Sunday of each month.

Pastor Leonard will preach on September 27.

Stay faithful to your church while our pastor is away for his myeloma treatment. The church is not built on a man. It is built on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.

 

DiscipleLife — Sundays at 4 PM

DiscipleLife will resume when Pastor Gregg returns.

Every new member is expected to attend DiscipleLife, and older members are invited to grow in their walk with God. The entire process will take approximately three years.

Courses will include:

  • Steps to a Godly Life
  • Dynamics of Spiritual Gifts
  • Experiencing God
  • 25 Life Principles
  • How to Share Your Faith
