From the Pastor

Life can throw us curveballs. That has certainly happened to me recently. Eighteen years ago I was diagnosed with early-stage multiple myeloma, a cancer of the bone marrow. The following year I underwent a stem cell transplant at the University of Mississippi Hospital in Jackson. My immune system was eradicated and, after nearly a year of recovery, the myeloma entered near-total remission.

For the past 18 years I have received two days of infusions each month that kept the disease under control. Recently, however, the myeloma began increasing again. At my hematologist's recommendation, Karen and I will travel to Little Rock after Sunday morning's service to the University of Arkansas Medical Center for extensive testing, including another bone marrow biopsy. After meeting with the physician, a new treatment plan will be recommended.

Please pray that God will provide the healing that is needed. I am confident He has a plan and still has much work for me to do. Thank you for your prayers, love, and support.

Church Family Note

Bro. Gregg and Karen expressed gratitude for the baby shower honoring Johnny, Gracie, and baby girl. They thanked the church family for the many gifts and asked for continued prayer as they prepare for the birth of their granddaughter in early September and for the family's Christian home.
